TYPES OF CAR STEREO SYSTEMS: FROM WOOFERS, TO AMPLIFIERS AND SPEAKERS
COLUMNS
A key element in all installations is the columns. The absence of balanced columns will decrease the quality of the installation.
From the simplest to the most complex models, the possibilities available are:
DOUBLE CONE SPEAKERS: THE MOST BASIC SOUND
Double cone columns are single columns and meet the objective of achieving a low selling price.
This conditions its composition and the materials of the membrane (usually treated paper). Basic in design, they allow for sufficient sound reproduction, but do not faithfully reproduce all the sound frequencies.
COAXIAL SPEAKERS: THE DYNAMIC SOUND
They can be two or three ways and are a good choice.
The main membrane reproduces low and medium. The integrated tweeter in the center of the speaker is designed to reproduce high-pitched sounds.
SEPARATE WAY SPEAKERS: THE PERFECT SOUND
Separate track speakers provide the perfect balance of sound in your vehicle. It is a system of several columns, in which each fulfills a specific function. They usually have a woofer, for low sounds, a midrange speaker and a tweeter for the reproduction of high-pitched sounds.
The maximum quality is obtained when in addition we add a filter whose function is to divide the different frequencies by column type. The set then works optimally, the sound quality is maximum and the distortion is minimal.
COLUMNS TO MEASURE
The hole in the original columns is not always of standard dimensions.
Feu Vert proposes a range of specific columns, as you go, that will be perfectly inserted in installations of this type. The advantage is that they adapt to the original hole of your car, but improving the sound quality obtained
THE WOOFERS
They are the soul of the equipment, cover low frequencies and give a feeling of power and depth.
Its mission is to move as much air as possible, so its size (20, 25, 30 cm or more), the larger the size, the higher the bass pressure. It can be installed in the suitcase (in closed boxes or in the coat rack). To know more, check out: 2 way vs 3 way speakers
AMPLIFIERS
The choice of an amplifier, outside the car radio, will always be made according to the speakers.
Why add an amplifier?
Mainly so that the sound signal reaches our ears in a sharper and clearer way. Cleaner bass and treble sounds. Including an amplifier does not mean listening to loud music, if you cannot understand the entire frequency range with greater quality.
There are different types: mono, single channel for the subwoofer, two channels for two speakers, four channels.
FEU VERT COUNCIL
The best place to install an amplifier is the car trunk, as maximum performance can reach high temperatures and needs good ventilation.
